About the Founder
Rizal Hefni is a guitarist, songwriter, mix engineer and music producer with over 30 years of experience. He has taught at various music institutions over the years such as at Twintech University College, Tritone Labs, and Orita Sinclair School of Design and Music where he chaired the Music Department for over a decade. As a guitar educator, he has dedicated his life to the advancement of the instrument and development of better learning systems for the guitar. He specializes in the fields of sweep picking, chord tone soloing, and pentatonics.
"In my years of learning and teaching the guitar, I've always felt that there was always something missing in the way the guitar is traditionally taught. Moreover, most music courses lacked adequate pedagogical underpinning. These often taught the 'what' but did not sufficiently focus on 'how' best to learn. I created the Hefni Guitar Method to ensure guitarist learn as quickly and effectively using concepts that are 'native' to the guitar. This ensures maximum absorption and retention of knowledge in order to achieve maximum proficiency"
